Fengshui Master Tool - Fengshui Luopan

A luopan, also known as a Feng Shui compass, is a traditional Chinese geomantic tool used in Feng

Shui practice. Even this tool has the san yuan and san he school of thoughts for your information and

their focus is different . It is an essential instrument for Feng Shui practitioners and consultants to as-

sess the energy and orientation of a space, as well as to determine the most suitable placements of

objects and adjustments to enhance the flow of energy (qi) and promote harmony.

The luopan is a circular compass that typically consists of multiple concentric rings and various mark-

ings. It features several components and can go quite big according to your school of thoughts re-

quirements , Fengshui Master need to use magnets to recalibrate the compass needle consistenly to

prevent the needle from missing its true north functions.

Compass Points:

The outermost ring of the luopan is divided into 24 compass points which we classified as the 24

dragons in Fengshui , each representing a different direction on the compass. One direction has 3

dragons in fengshui school of thoughts .

Rings and Scales:

Inside the compass points, there are additional rings and scales that represent various aspects of

Feng Shui, such as the Bagua, the Five Elements, and numerical values associated with different en-

ergy aspects.

Needle and Indicator:

A magnetic needle at the center of the luopan points towards the magnetic north. This helps deter-

mine the accurate compass directions for a given space. We usually take measurements outside the

client main door to get the direction right as inside the unit the measurements might be derailed .

Symbols and Markings:

The luopan often includes symbols, characters, and markings that correspond to different Feng Shui

principles and concepts. Practitioners use these to interpret the energy of a space and make recom-

mendations for adjustments. The experience and differences of different school of thoughts might

have conflicts here as some will argue that the best way to flow out the water will be from this direc-

tion but others view differently. Hence Fengshui Masters usually do not do projects for clients with dif-

ferent Feng shui Masters . Different parties have different views.

When using a luopan, a Feng Shui practitioner will hold it flat and level while standing at a specific lo-

cation within the space they are analyzing. They will align the luopan's compass points with the actual

compass directions and then use the various rings, scales, and markings to determine the energy

characteristics of that location. This is critical for the deployments and calculations of whether the lo-

cation is good for the next 20 years in this Fengshui Cycle . The next fengshui cycle is fengshui pe-

riod 9 where the fire element will become prominent .

The practitioner may then recommend adjustments such as rearranging furniture, adding specific ob-

jects, altering colors, or making other modifications to improve the balance and flow of energy in the

space. We use gua sector chi to achieve this objectives and not asking people to do things

superstitiously .

It's important to note that becoming proficient in using a luopan requires a deep understanding of

Feng Shui principles and their application. While the luopan is a traditional tool, there are also modern

digital versions available that incorporate advanced features and functionalities for Feng Shui analy-

sis. Handphone direction app cannot be trusted to take direction in Fengshui audit as they are proven

to be flunctating in fengshui audit when we took the bearings .
